I have recently re-watched Buffy for the millionth time, one thing that has bugged me for so long is how Buffy died the first time then Kendra came, Kendra died and then Faith was Called, Buffy died AGAIN and … nothing. I don’t know, maybe they figured that Buffy dies TOO often to bother about calling another one or maybe theres another slayer out there somewhere?.
I had the same question at the time and a friend had this theory: The next Slayer in Buffy’s line was Kendra. When Kendra died, Faith was called. The line continued on regardless of Buffy’s living or dying. So the only way a new Slayer could be called would be if Faith died. I don’t know if this is right, but it sounds pretty logical to me.
Assuming an awesome witch didn’t imbue all potential Slayers with super-strength via an ancient Slayer weapon, of course.
